Beerd – Bar Design
The South West's first Craft Beer venue was the brainchild of Bath Ales for whom Simple Simon Design had previously designed Graze and The Hop Pole. This time the brief called for somewhere to appeal to a much younger market. The design features a mixture of classic chairs, reclaimed wood, bicycle handlebars, sandblasted brickwork, and bespoke wallpaper of vintage beer mats (with some new ones thrown in).
The Bar Design Process
The property deal wasn't completed until the end of November, but Simple Simon's team turned the entire rip out and installation around in under 3 weeks to ensure a week's trade before Christmas. Amongst the challenges was to design and build the hinged barrel back bar that allows access to the beer lines for the 9 taps.
