From the Architects:

The settlement of Borgo Val di Taro, integrated in the geographical reality of the mountains in Val di Taro, presents itself as a nucleus that, contained into a natural basin surrounded by the skyline of the Apennine mountains, lost definitely the historical characters of a fortified village to become a sort of urban area where facilities and indistinct conglomeration compromised the separation between town and natural landscape.

The artisan-industrial area located at the border of the recent development of the town is marked by a long straight way parallel to the river. The site of the new building is at the end of a way marked by heterogeneous presences of industrial buildings.

The project tries to belong to this area laying down a relation of closure to the road axis (by a series of windows scanning the long facade) and of opening to the fields of the agricultural landscape (by the outline of the frame in the offices windows). The complex is intended to house a firm producing electrical motors.
