Baroque Museum by Toyo Ito

Japanese arhitect Toyo Ito designed this Interactive museum that showcases the best of international baroque pieces from Brazil, Cuba, China, Spain, France, United States, Guatemala, Peru, Portugal and 21 museums besides Mexican foundations.

The new International Baroque Museum, of 18,000 square meters length, is considered as one of the most ambitious in the history of Puebla. The two-story building host permanent exhibition halls and has areas dedicated to science, nature and scientific experimentation. The program includes an auditorium, a terrace and an outdoor patio.

Its permanent galleries feature: Teatro Mundi (Mundi Theatre), Angelópolis, Sentimiento barroco (Baroque feeling), Pintura y escultura (Painting and sculpture), Letras barrocas, (Baroque lyrics), Deleitar y conmover (Delight and move), Artificios diluidos (Diluted Artifices) and Barroco contemporáneo (Contemporary Baroque), which offer a comprehensive view of the different art manifestations from its origins to the present day.

The International Baroque Museum is located in Atlixcáyotl between the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores Monterrey (ITESM, campus Puebla ) (ITESM, for its acronym in Spanish), and via Municipio Libre, south of the city of Puebla.
