Miu Miu by Roberto Baciocchi Opens in Dubai
Miu Miu has recently opened its latest store in Dubai, the 3rd in the famed metropolis, the store is located in the renowned Mall of The Emirates.
The Mall of the Emirates opened in 2005. It is by now a major international retail and leisure destination. Home to the famous Ski Dubai, it is located at the heart of one of the fastest growing communities in Dubai. In 2010, The Fashion Dome, a spectacular new luxury extension was built introducing over 40 luxury brands to an already impressive selection. Today the Mall boasts a surface area of 233,470 square metres and a footfall of 36 million (in 2012). – from MIU MIU
The new store space was designed by Miu Miu and PRADA in-house architect Roberto Baciocchi and his studio who created a lavish space under the sentiment of the Parisian fashion house. The store itself takes the scope of 230 square meters, the store offers ready to wear pieces as well as footwear and leather goods.
An imposing all-glass façade is backed by signature perforated metal curtain inviting visitors into the elegant interior which is divided into two distinct spaces. Walls are draped with iconic gold damask which also covers floor-to-ceiling panels used to differentiate between product areas. A mirrored polished steel and honeycomb Plexiglass ceiling radiates light ensuring the collections are displayed at their best in niches and on fine metal counters placed centrally in both rooms. Precious, black marble flooring evokes grandeur while velvet booths achieve an intimate touch. – from MIU MIU
