Salone del Mobile.Milano, the world’s premier furniture and design fair, is set to debut Salone Raritas, a curated exhibition space dedicated to limited edition design, unique objects, and high-end creative manufacturing. Scheduled for April 21–26, 2026 at Fiera Milano, Rho, Salone Raritas marks a significant evolution in the fair’s mission, bridging the gap between collectible design and the professional design market.
Curated by Annalisa Rosso, Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor of Salone del Mobile, and designed by the acclaimed studio Formafantasma, Salone Raritas is conceived as an immersive, architectural “lantern.” The exhibition space features modular islands, a unified color and material palette, and a central lounge to encourage networking and business opportunities. This design ensures each gallery’s character shines within a cohesive, memorable landscape.

Salone Raritas is positioned as the first direct interface between the world of special edition design, antiques, and high-end craftsmanship and the B2B contemporary design market. Leading galleries and an international audience, including architects, interior designers, developers, and hospitality professionals, will convene to engage with rare and iconic pieces. The platform is designed to foster long-term relationships and generate new business opportunities, reflecting the growing demand for uniqueness, quality, and narrative in residential, hospitality, and public spaces.
Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, emphasizes the fair’s commitment to anticipating market evolution: “Salone Raritas was born of an awareness that is also a responsibility, which is to read the evolution of the international market and provide a response consistent with the identity of the Salone del Mobile.Milano.”

The project is underpinned by the Salone ecosystem, which draws over 300,000 visitors from more than 160 countries and 5,200 international journalists annually. Salone Raritas will multiply the visibility of collectible design, a traditionally niche sector, by presenting it on a global stage. The exhibition’s structure allows for a curated, readable narrative, where each gallery’s identity is preserved within a unified design.
Formafantasma’s approach frames Salone Raritas as a permeable, respectful architectural landscape, allowing each gallery to express its own vision while contributing to a collective narrative. This ensures both market effectiveness and visitor memorability.
Salone Raritas signals a new chapter for collectible design, opening channels between galleries, professionals, and investors who rarely meet in other circuits. It positions Salone del Mobile.Milano not just as a commercial platform but as a cultural infrastructure, where rarity and creativity become a shared design language, and the value of lasting, authorial design is celebrated.

Salone Raritas is also a response to shifting trends in the design world, where limited editions and unique pieces are increasingly valued as strategic assets in defining the identity of hotels, residences, and public spaces. As the professional design world focuses on quality, content, and uniqueness, Salone Raritas becomes a catalyst for new connections and perspectives, reinforcing Salone del Mobile’s role as an international hub for visionaries and innovators.
The exhibition’s debut will bring together leading galleries, architects, interior designers, developers, hospitality professionals, and collectors, making it a unique meeting point for the global design community. By fostering dialogue between high-end creative production and the B2B market, Salone Raritas expands the possibilities for collaboration and market growth, while offering a curated showcase of the most compelling new directions in collectible and limited edition design.
