H&M Home steps further into design territory with its collaboration with Kelly Wearstler, using Milan Design Week as a platform to extend the project beyond retail. Rather than limiting the release to objects, the brand introduces a spatial installation that places the collection inside a defined architectural context. The move positions H&M within a broader conversation around interiors, where presentation carries as much weight as product.

FURNITURE

The installation unfolds inside a historic Milanese setting, where Wearstler’s approach to form and material guides the environment. Furniture, lighting, and objects sit within a layout that reads as a complete interior rather than a display. This decision shifts the focus from individual pieces to how they operate together, creating a sense of cohesion that aligns with Wearstler’s established design language.

Material choices define the atmosphere. Surfaces lean toward natural tones, with a balance between sculptural volumes and tactile finishes. The collection introduces a mix of solid forms and softer elements, allowing contrast to emerge through proportion and placement. Each object contributes to a larger composition, reinforcing the idea that the project functions as a system rather than a series of standalone items.

The collaboration also reflects a broader shift in how fashion and design intersect during Milan Design Week. Brands move away from static presentations and toward immersive environments that invite movement and interaction. In this context, H&M uses scale and accessibility to its advantage, presenting a collection that sits within reach while still engaging with spatial design on a larger level.

This is my Milan Design Week debut, and H&M HOME is the perfect partner. Their global presence and genius for storytelling align perfectly with my vision. Bringing this collection to life in Milan and showing people how the pieces come alive in a real space, that’s what excites me. – Kelly Wearstler

Wearstler’s influence remains visible throughout the installation. Her signature approach to layering, balance, and geometry shapes how the space unfolds. Objects do not compete for attention; instead, they operate within a controlled rhythm that guides the visitor through the environment. The result feels intentional and measured, with each element placed to support the overall composition.

With this presentation, H&M reinforces its growing interest in interiors while aligning itself with the format of Milan Design Week. The project positions the brand within a space that values both concept and execution, using collaboration as a way to explore new directions.
