UNStudio founded 30 years years ago Ben van Berkel, a lecturer at TU Delft, and Caroline Bos, an art historian and architectural journalist. At their kitchen table, they sketched out their first projects, and the future of UNStudio. Fast forward three decades and UNStudio is operating from six international offices and designing in over 30 countries.
Today Ben and Caroline are working with over 200 architects and designers. Every day, these creatives shape the resilient world they want to live in, focusing every inch of design around human needs: connecting fast-growing communities, housing cultural institutions, building homes, harnessing emerging technologies, and educating young creatives.
UNStudio’s moto is connecting people to places and to each other, in relevant, flexible and future-proof ways. UNstudio has built the foundations of their company along those very same future-proof principles.
UNStudio recently completed their first project in Belgium: Le Toison d’Or. The building, which is constructed in Brussels in partnership with Belgian studio Jaspers-Eyers, is a block construction for mixed residential and commercial use. Take a look at the complete story after the jump. More
