AC Future, in partnership with design powerhouse Pininfarina, has received the 2025 Red Dot Award in the Design Concept category for its AI Transformer Home series. The modular housing concept includes three innovative models, the AI-THu (Home Unit), AI-THt (Home Trailer), and AI-THd (Home Drivable), all developed to address growing global interest in mobile, sustainable, and AI-integrated living.
DESIGN
The series reimagines off-grid architecture with scalable floorplans, intelligent energy and water systems, and advanced smart home features. Each unit offers distinct functionality: the AI-THu expands to 400 square feet for stationary use, while the trailer and drivable options can reach up to 1,200 square feet when fully deployed. The designs are suitable for personal, commercial, or emergency deployment, reflecting a versatile approach to modern nomadic living.

For AC Future CEO Arthur Qin, the recognition validates the company’s goal to revolutionize mobile living. “This award affirms our mission to create adaptable, intelligent spaces that allow people to live and work anywhere,” Qin said. “With Pininfarina, we’ve designed more than just homes — we’ve developed a system for sustainable freedom.”
The Transformer Home project has received additional accolades in the past year, including a 2025 Good Design Award for both transportation and graphic design, an Honorary Mention in Fast Company’s 2024 Innovation by Design Awards, and a CES 2025 nod from CNET as one of the most innovative new products. The Wall Street Journal also featured it in its 2024 CES preview.
The Red Dot Award ceremony will take place on October 15, 2025, in Singapore, with the winning project to be showcased at the Red Dot Design Museum. Reservations for the AI Transformer Homes are now available via ACFuture.com, with the first deliveries scheduled for Q3 2026.
