Armadillo and Australian designer Tom Fereday have introduced Agra Forma, a capsule collection that explores the relationship between natural materials and structural clarity. Built around the texture and tone of Armadillo’s Agra rug, the project steps beyond the floor and into furniture. Together, the collaborators focused on form, refining each design into a clean, tactile object shaped by material response.
The collection takes Armadillo’s handmade sensibility and applies it to sculptural forms. Fereday’s design language, which prioritizes visible structure and purposeful material use, aligns with the brand’s approach to process. The result is a collection that moves through textile and timber without adding unnecessary detail. Each piece remains grounded in use, texture, and weight.

Sculptural Design Built from Wool and Wood
Agra Forma consists of seven furniture pieces that combine red oak with Armadillo’s abrash-dyed wool. The collection draws from two rug tones: Ginger, a warm, sunbaked hue, and Thistle, a cooler, more muted shade. These contrasting palettes meet solid oak forms, where softness and structure interact without visual noise.
Each object reflects Fereday’s process-first design method. Rather than apply decoration, he starts with material. The texture of wool and the weight of oak determine shape, proportion, and composition.

Fereday treats wood and textile with equal focus. Every curve and join responds to the material’s behavior. The rugs anchor the designs, not just as source material but as active components, shaped, lifted, and framed by the furniture’s structural volumes.
Armadillo extends its practice through this shift in scale. Known globally for its natural-fiber rugs crafted by hand, the brand moves its attention to detail into a new category.

International Launch at 3daysofdesign
The collection will debut internationally during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. Agra Forma appears as part of Gestures of Home, a group exhibition by Openhouse Studio. The show takes place at The Conary, a historical setting adapted for the event.
Stylist Henriette Schou has curated a selection that includes Armadillo rugs, the Agra Forma furniture pieces, and additional works by Expormim and Saba Italia.
