Fredericia expands its Post Collection with the new Post Lounge Chair by Cecilie Manz, introducing a more relaxed typology to the design family first launched in 2019. The collection, which includes the Post Table and Post Chair, takes its name from Fredericia’s Copenhagen showroom, located in a former post office building. That setting gives the series a quiet architectural reference, one rooted in function, order and everyday use.

With the Post Lounge Chair, Manz does not attempt to reinvent the collection. Instead, she extends it with precision, adjusting scale, proportion and comfort to suit lounge and living spaces. The result feels like a natural continuation of the original Post language rather than a separate object. Manz keeps the chair’s structure clear, allowing each element to serve a visible purpose.

A slim oak frame forms the chair’s foundation. Its lines remain direct and measured, giving the piece a strong graphic presence without heaviness. The removable cushion, available in fabric or leather, introduces softness while respecting the frame’s disciplined geometry. This balance between structure and comfort defines the design. Nothing appears added for effect. Each part contributes to the chair’s function and visual calm.
Comfort comes through proportion rather than excess padding. The wide backrest curves at an angle that supports a more open posture, while the seat depth invites longer sitting. Rounded armrests soften the outline and make the chair feel approachable without compromising its clarity. The design suits a domestic setting, but it also carries the poise needed for refined hospitality or workplace interiors.

Manz’s work often sits between Scandinavian and Japanese design sensibilities. The Post Lounge Chair reflects that position through restraint, material honesty and careful attention to detail. It avoids decorative gestures and instead relies on proportion, construction and tactile quality. The interchangeable webbing and seat reinforce this practical intelligence, allowing the chair to adapt while keeping its identity intact.
The Post Lounge Chair succeeds because it understands continuity as a design value. Fredericia and Manz expand the collection without diluting it, creating a lounge chair that feels calm, precise and fully resolved. It offers comfort through structure, softness through material and character through restraint.
