Light Comfort by IDstudio

IDstudio designed this inspiring contemporary apartment located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Take a look at the complete story after the jump

From the architects: We designed a bright, contemporary apartment in a quiet neighborhood near Ljubljana centre. A young couple that spends most of their time abroad, wanted to return to a comfortable home with many cosy nooks and corners to enjoy in their free time.

Since the couple travels a lot we wanted the apartment to have a cosmopolitan feel – simple, elegant and chic. Soft monochrome palette is complemented with golden details and pastel pink textiles. The focus is on interesting lights, that create different ambients during the day.

Bright entrance hallway clearly separates the living and sleeping area on each side. Wooden sitting nook frames the window and welcomes you after entering the apartment.

Open living space is visually divided into three parts; big kitchen with breakfast island, dining nook and a comfy tv area.

Grey wall dividers at the entrance doesn’t just create a cosy dining spot but also hides a view to the bathroom door behind them at the same time.

Soft gray kitchen makes a great base for white stone countertops, light wood and copper details.

Comfort was a priority when choosing the dark textile sofa, that can also be made into a queen sized bed. The cabinets under the TV can also be used as a bench for seating more guests.

Elegant fireplace is placed in the middle of the room so it can be seen from the kitchen island, while having diner in a dining nook or when lying on a sofa on a cold evening.

Soft shades of gray in combination with wood and gold continue in the master bedroom as well. The bed with its tall headboard, pastel bedding and soft curtains make the bedroom feel warm and comfortable. Vertical wall dividers are also used in this room to separate sleeping area from the large wardrobe.

The bathrooms are quite small, so we designed the cabinets with big mirrors to visually enlarge them.. but there is lots of storage space in the corridor and the bedrooms so everything will find its place in this modern apartment.
