Décor Aid Brought an Outdated Soho Duplex into the 21st Century

Award-winning design practice Décor Aid has worked on a renovation of an outdated duplex in Soho, converting it into a space that now serves as a living area, office, and place for entertaining.

This duplex began as a dark, drab space that was in desperate need of an update. The clients wanted a space where they could entertain and work from home, as well as live comfortably in, and the duplex’s current state was not cutting it. One of the most important parts of this renovation was opening up the space in a way that made it comfortable and exciting to entertain in, and easily provide access to the kitchen, dining area, and expansive living room. The designer created a custom walnut bar where the clients can serve and entertain guests, but also use as storage. The clients also requested that furniture be durable enough to withstand the affection of their bulldog. The designer had a custom made sectional added to the space, which was promptly upholstered in a heavy duty fabric. The bathroom was also completely renovated. Where once stood an outdated tub, now stands a large industrial shower framed with iron and glass. The completed design combines contemporary elements with practical pieces that suit the clients’ lifestyle. – from Decor Aid
