Plumbing

This is the most important element to get right with your bathroom design. If the plumbing isn’t done properly you are going to be facing so much trouble in the future. Get it done right the first time and save yourself time and money in the long run. City Plumbing offers a whole range of products to help you with this. You need to measure the room meticulously so you have a very clear idea of what will fit and what won’t.

Layout

You also need to think about the layout of the room. Would you be building from scratch or working with a layout that’s already there? This depends on your budget, and how happy you are with the bathroom if it already exists. If you like the layout and would rather spend the budget in other places, then stick with what you’ve got. If you’ve got a vision, and the funds, then don’t be afraid to mix things up. Whichever option you choose, make sure to think long-term and whether the layout will work for you in years to come.

Bathroom Needs

You need to make sure your bathroom works for your home and the other people in the household. Make a list of your key priorities. This, of course, will differ depending on who you live with. A family-friendly room may require extra storage. You and your partner may want a double basin. Do you need a bath or would a shower suffice? Get familiar with the space and figure out what you want from it.

Colour

You can use your bathroom as an opportunity to experiment with colour. You don’t necessarily have to stick to the classic, white, look. You can throw in a splash of colour with the tile design, and then use small pieces in the room to match with this. The towels, the bathmat or perhaps some candles when you want to pamper yourself in there. How bold you go with your colour choices – and how much you use of them – is entirely up to you.

Designing a bathroom is a great chance for you to get creative, and make the space your own. Remember to keep your priorities in check, and please don’t forget to invest in quality plumbing. What would your dream bathroom look like?
