From the Architects:

As a flamingo, on its own feet, challenging waters and finding nourishment within, this new architectural body rests fearlessly on the banks of the Seine. Swirls and currents do not scare, it is safe from even the most unexpected flood. A transparent crystal is placed, as if suspended in mid-air, at the city level. Everyone, locals and tourists alike, will undergo the charm of its enigmatic presence.

The volume, lying and stretched to frame the horizon and a landscape of incomparable beauty, is structured through a simple but effective compositive scheme. A single linear prism, covered with gilded walls and shiny mirrors, regenerates the fascination of the historic Parisian venues. This surprising golden bar collects all the necessary functional cores: entrance, cloakroom, administration, offices, toilets, plant room, kitchen and tasting contexts. The remaining space, bathed in the light of the Seine, is populated by thin pillars and glassy curtains that draw irresistible circular vip rooms like crystal balls.

Three sparkling lifters, as champagne tiny bubbles, move along special pillars connecting the suspended panorama bar to the level of water, where a fantastic grande halle is set just in front of the Seine. Here a grand open-air loggia creates a protected river terrace as an extension of the inner spaces above.

A high mirror-ceiling duplicates spaces vertically, brings light deep within, reflects water glows and creates a magical atmosphere. Toasts and events will take place just right here, under this unforgettable urban icon.

Flamingo is a living architecture. Being the result of a light and fully dry building construction system, it can be transformed over time to become lots of other things or even be completely removed leaving the site just as before.
