From the architects: The task was clear: to completely reinterpret the term guesthouse. Everything commonly associated with this term has been challenged to meet modern needs. The result is THE DOT, a modern design-guesthouse in the heart of Munich. In addition to an entirely new 24/7 booking concept, rooms at THE DOT are optimized to comfortability in the heart of Munich.

A fresh and cheerful design with strong color accents was chosen to distinguish THE DOT from other guesthouses. As the creators of THE DOT, we also created a corporate identity and the visual elements of the online presentation. All the descriptions, the entire graphic and public advertising designs were developed by us to match the overall concept.

The color selection is strong, featuring colorful and geometric shapes, forming a kind of cocoon around the beds, creating a sense of security. From the bed the guest can see light gray tones, giving a calming vibe to the room.
Strong colors are also featured in the bathrooms: here are vibrant orange and salmon shades that contrast the black and white facilities. The bathrooms are built using Dorma Glaswandsystem. These tiles are captivating— the outside painted salmon-orange and the inside a vibrant orange.

All furniture has been made and mass-produced exclusively for THE DOT. The experiences and wishes of travelers were included and taken into consideration in the process of designing detail-oriented solutions. The headboards of the beds are upholstered with a 3D Alcantra wallpaper, in order to achieve not only a unique and beautiful appearance, but also good room acoustics.
