Grand Park Hotel Rovinj by 3LHD Architects

3LHD Architects designed the new Maistra Collection’s flagship hotel Grand Park Hotel in Rovinj, Croatia. The new hotel will be a landmark of this historical city, positioned just across the bay from the Old town, with the St Euphemia church and Catarina island as its focal points. The Grand park Hotel is the fourth collaboration between Maistra and 3LHD, who also designed Rovinj’s Hotel Lone, Hotel Adriatic and the Mulini Beach.

Take a look at the complete story after the jump.

The view from Grand Park Hotel Rovinj is indeed breathtaking, but the view of the hotel is no less remarkable. The cascading structure makes the hotel visually attractive and almost blended with the landscape. The six floors of the hotel contain 193 rooms and 16 suites with a sea view, some of which are up to 175 square metres in size.

The large windows fill the rooms with an abundance of natural light and open the view to the fascinating and one of the most recognizable vistas in the Adriatic. Once a guest enters the Park, the feeling of familiarity and calm take over. The corridors are named after the plants from the park-forest behind the hotel, and for every guest, the hotel becomes their home away from home. For the duration of the stay, their room becomes their new address, and reads, for example, as 202 Cedar Walk.

This latest five-star hotel promises an artistic luxury experience, wrapped in the local narrative and authentic culture.

On one hand, one can enjoy the art pieces displayed in many corners of the hotel, perfectly blending with its interior design. This time, the project benefits from the collaboration with the Milan studio Lissoni Architecture by Piero Lissoni – one of the most renowned and famous Italian designers, a man who defines global trends in product design and whose works are exhibited in numerous European and international museums. Lissoni’s work is known for its minimalism and special attention was given to the choice of materials in decorating the interior of the hotel.

The hotel is a celebration to fine dining, and guest can enjoy it’s six restaurants, including a signature restaurant, known for its culinary explorations. Whether it is the sea food oriented marina restaurant Bitinada, a novel concept of Viva Eufemia, with contemporary food, portraying a local light flair on socialising and mingling food, or Cissa, a pool lounge on top of the hotel with an unforgettable view of the city, a guest of the hotel has a series of gastronomic and bella vista spaces to choose from. A visit to Laurel & Berry, for example, an all-day eatery uniting the nature’s palette and human imagination and skill, is naturally followed by a delicious dessert and a cup of specialty coffee from Katarina’s, just a few floors below.
