Gucci SoHo store has been a one-of-a-kind destination ever since it first opened its doors in 2018. It successfully combines the artistic history of SoHo with House’s most recent designs. 63 Wooster Street is the location of Gucci’s newly remodelled shop, which the brand is pleased to announce has opened earlier today. The interior brings us to what Gucci is today, while staying within the sentiment of what is also a SoHo fashion store.

Located within a landmark-protected building that was formerly a pencil factory, Gucci Wooster occupies a complete city block and features two entrances on Wooster Street and West Broadway. The building is about 155 years old. The design of the renovated building respects the existing framework of the building, revealing restored brickwork, iron and wooden flooring, tin ceilings and columns that merge in perfectly with the modern stainless steel, glass and cement finishes that are used throughout the space and place. The store, with it’s SoHo features, showcases lines and subdued tones that match the ancient aspects of the structure.

The respect for this site, which is demonstrated via the accenting of its distinctive features, is combined hints of Italian love for furniture design and national brands. Owing to the creative vision that inspired the renovations of the recently reopened via Monte Napoleone store in Milan, the interiors feature an intentionally essential selection of icons of Italian design by Cassina, B&B Italia, and Minotti. This selection aligns with Sabato De Sarno‘s contemporary aesthetic and places Gucci’s collections at the forefront of the store’s design. Within each of the four dressing rooms, lacquered Rosso Ancora panels serve as a protective barrier.

The store is located in a one-of-a-kind open area that spans over 10,000 square feet and aims to focus on the brands ready-to-wear collections, as well as jewellery, accessories, and the Gucci Valigeria collections. On the occasion of the opening, the space presents the Women’s Spring Summer 24 collection.

Dashwood Books will continue to serve as the curator of the Gucci Wooster Bookstore. The refurbished Bookstore will exhibit carefully selected titles that are focused on modern art and photography. These titles will include a large number of titles that are no longer in print and will rotate at regular intervals based on Gucci’s inspirations. While connected to the fashion, the bookstore will have its own address and a dedicated entrance located at 375 West Broadway. An exhibition of “Gucci Prospettive 1: Milano Ancora,” the first volume in a series of books that are designed to represent Sabato De Sarno’s artistic vision across a variety of cultural and expressive domains, will take place at the Bookstore in connection with the launch of the SS24 collection.

The new Gucci Wooster also exhibits a selection of modern and contemporary artworks that were curated by Gucci’s go-to Truls Blaasmo, selecting works from Alighiero Boetti, Larry Bell, Lucio Fontana, Autumn Knight, and Sasha Stiles. Blaasmo fittingly selected store artwork inspired by SoHo itself.
