Cult Gaia, the renowned Los Angeles-based fashion label celebrated for its vacation-ready attire and accessories, is set to present its latest retail venture in Miami’s Design District, located at 135 NE 40th St. Designed by Jess and Jonathan Nahon in collaboration with Jasmin Larian Hekmat, the 1,500 square foot space seamlessly integrates the brand’s ethos with the rich landscape of Miami. Inspired by temple architecture and Larian Hekmat’s Persian heritage, the A-frame structure pays homage to iconic historical archetypes, creating a truly immersive shopping experience. The store will also feature a matcha bar in partnership with Chit Chat LA, offering customers a unique culinary experience while browsing the collection.
As visitors enter the store, they are greeted by a profound motto, “May all the doors of the world always be open to you,” a sentiment passed down from Larian Hekmat’s grandmother. The exterior facade boasts an 1,800-piece Tree of Life tile mural by artist Michael Chandler, commissioned by Sugarhouse as a tribute to Larian Hekmat’s heritage and Henri Rousseau’s painting “The Dream.” The narrative of Cult Gaia’s evolution, from its humble beginnings crafting flower crowns to the establishment of its Miami store, reflects the brand’s journey of creativity and passion.
In designing the Miami store, Larian Hekmat aimed to honor the brand’s heritage in a personal and profound manner. Hand-painted tile facades depict symbols significant to her, including pomegranates in homage to her grandfather. The interior is divided into three sections, with skylight domes reminiscent of the Pantheon.
The meticulously designed interior, featuring sculptures and natural elements, invites visitors to experience fashion in a temple-like setting. Inspired by nature and women, Cult Gaia’s designs are not just Objets d’Art but also functional pieces that celebrate individuality and beauty. As the brand continues to evolve, its commitment to creating unique, head-turning pieces remains unwavering, embodying the creative spirit of Gaia, the goddess of Mother Earth.
