In a historic apartment on Quai Anatole France, graciously provided by Barnes, designer Hugo Besnier unveils Tour de Mains, the first complete collection from his Maison Hartis. Comprising thirty original furniture pieces, the presentation offers a profound immersion into Besnier’s design philosophy, rooted in touch, structure, and the living dialogue between material and maker.

FURNITURE

Founded in 2020, Hartis embodies a contemporary vision of French savoir-faire, where heritage craftsmanship meets an architectural sensitivity to form. Tour de Mains draws on gestures both simple and universal, sitting, leaning, resting, transforming them into sculptural expressions of comfort. Each piece reflects a meticulous process, shaped by the hands of artisans, Compagnons, and Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. The result is furniture that carries the warmth of human touch, merging technical precision with organic grace.

Inspired by nature’s asymmetry and the rigor of built structures, Besnier’s creations balance raw materiality and refinement. Wood, stone, leather, and glass coexist in harmony, each surface inviting both use and contemplation. His approach rejects ornament for purity, translating movement and texture into quiet elegance.

The presentation of Tour de Mains extends beyond design into a total experience. Within the apartment, curated objects and encounters unfold, artworks from Almine Rech gallery, performances on a Steinway Spirio piano, Korean tea ceremonies, Louis XIII tastings, and delicate glassware by Sophie Lou Jacobsen. Each element reinforces the sensorial rhythm of the collection: a reflection on slowness, intimacy, and the art of living.

Through Tour de Mains, Hugo Besnier positions Hartis as a new voice in French design, contemplative, precise, and deeply human. The collection remains on view in Paris from October 9 to 26, 2025, by appointment only.
