Acerbis brings Palla back into focus with Round About Seventies, a new project that revisits the armchair through the visual energy of the 1970s. First introduced over 50 years ago, Palla returns as a key piece in the Acerbis collection, carrying its rounded form into a contemporary setting through colour, texture, and graphic impact.

The Round About Seventies edition places the armchair and pouf in Brionne, a Torri Lana fabric reissued with a modern perspective. Its vibrant palette and clear contrasts recall the decade that shaped Palla’s original attitude, while the bouclé texture gives the piece a strong tactile presence. Fully upholstered in the fabric, the armchair gains a renewed sense of character, with its curved silhouette gaining depth through the material surface.

Palla has always occupied a space between furniture and object. Its generous volume and informal posture give it a distinct personality, while its construction keeps comfort central to the design. In this new edition, Acerbis brings that duality forward. The armchair works as a decorative anchor in a room, yet it keeps the ease and directness of a lived-in piece.

The campaign builds a broader narrative around Palla by moving the armchair through different interiors and perspectives. Acerbis will release a series of video interviews and photo shoots throughout the year, each offering a different reading of the design. Through this format, the project presents Palla as an adaptable piece that can shift between settings, moods, and visual languages while retaining its original identity.

Round About Seventies also reflects the current direction of Acerbis under creative directors Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces. Their work with the brand continues to connect archival designs with contemporary interiors, bringing historic pieces back into circulation with precision and relevance. Palla fits naturally into this approach, as a design rooted in a specific cultural moment yet open to present-day use.

Acerbis, one of Italy’s long-standing furniture companies, brings 150 years of design history into its current chapter. With MDF Italia acquisition of Acerbis strengthening the brand’s position on the international market, the company continues to expand its presence while keeping its family-led design culture in view. Through Round About Seventies, Acerbis returns to one of its most recognizable pieces with a campaign that treats the past as a living design resource.
