South African furniture studio OKHA launched the Miles armchair with an evolved design take on its earlier classic. The new version maintains the lyrical character of the original while enhancing the visual dynamics of the design with a double bar in solid timber running from armrest to seat, inspired by architecture. From the designers: The MILES armchair is a sculpted, lyrical statement, a form that is fluid and sensual, one that defines structure, mass and the beauty of negative space.
“I’m massively inspired by architecture, there is a genre of architecture that is at its core highly sculptural, where the structure is rooted in the expressivity of form… so you can say in a broader context that sculpture is a major influence, I love how pure form, line, and contour possess such emotive force” says Court.
MILES is available in a range of timber finishes as well as a broad selection of leathers (also COM).
