The Innovation Hub, a collaborative project between RMJM Dubai and Masdar City, has reached completion, marking a significant milestone in sustainable architectural innovation. Strategically situated within Masdar City’s Tech and Research & Development (R&D) cluster, this state-of-the-art building offers 4,000 square meters (sqm) of office space across three floors, with a modular design approach that fosters adaptability and creativity.
Distinguished by its modern aesthetic and functionality, the Innovation Hub features a dedicated lobby, separate R&D service entrance, and a parking area accommodating 127 spaces. Beyond its primary function as office space, the building serves as a versatile platform for showcasing Masdar City’s pioneering services, with provisions for educational facilities, training rooms, test labs, and additional R&D spaces.
In line with Masdar City’s commitment to sustainability, the Innovation Hub has achieved a 3 Pearl Design Rating and LEED Gold Certification. Through its innovative design and construction methods, the building consumes 40 percent less energy and water compared to conventional structures of similar scale. Moreover, over 60% of the building’s total energy demand is met through renewable sources, contributing to its eco-friendly footprint.
A central focus of the building’s design is its efficient envelope, integrating modular brick facades to optimize daylight penetration and reduce reliance on artificial lighting. This emphasis on natural illumination not only enhances the indoor environment but also promotes energy efficiency and occupant well-being. Additionally, the lighting strategy emphasizes both functionality and aesthetics, enhancing the building’s visual appeal while minimizing energy consumption.
