A Green Oasis Amid Tokyo’s Bustling Core

Situated in the heart of Tokyo, Park Court Jingu Kitasando The Tower enjoys a unique position surrounded by the lush greenery of Meiji Shrine, its outer gardens, and the Shinjuku Imperial Garden. This location offers not only aesthetic appeal but also convenient access to the JR Yamanote and Tokyo Metro subway lines, cementing its role as a central hub in the city’s transportation network.

The building’s integration into its surroundings creates a mix of urban functionality and natural elements. The design takes advantage of the site’s varying elevations to incorporate greenery, pathways, and water features that improve the exterior space. This thoughtful approach transforms the environment into a dynamic and inviting setting, with the facade offering a different visual experience each time it is viewed.

NEST Design Concept

The design embraces a “NEST” concept that combines organic vitality with versatile connections. The exterior features soft, curved geometries complemented by a woven design that gives the tower its distinctive character. On the eastern facade, a linear arrangement introduces a sharp and dynamic contrast, creating visual depth that shifts depending on the angle of observation.

Inside, the NEST concept continues with an emphasis on flowing, interconnected spaces. The entrance lounge showcases walls and floors designed with a three-dimensional weave, sculpting the atrium into a welcoming passage. A three-story vaulted ceiling welcomes visitors, with an elegant chandelier and a bold staircase descending diagonally underground. These elements together form a dynamic communal area that serves as a centerpiece of the building’s design.

A Tower of Iconic Design

The woven exterior and flowing design elements establish the tower as a landmark in Tokyo’s skyline. At night, lighting accents the tower’s wavy structure, casting a three-dimensional effect that improves its architectural presence. The softly lit green facade ensures the building remains an inviting space even after sunset.

Wood and other natural materials shape the interior, creating an atmosphere that evokes the feeling of being nestled inside a tree. The design connects the building’s ground and rooftop levels to the surrounding greenery. The landscape design includes accessible pathways that invite both residents and the community to engage with the space.

Sustainability at Its Core

Park Court Jingu Kitasando The Tower by Hoshino Architects incorporates thoughtful environmental considerations throughout its design. The landscape features a variety of tree species, which improve biodiversity by linking the surrounding green spaces. This approach encourages urban wildlife habitats, promoting local ecological diversity and connecting natural environments across the area.

Solar panels on the rooftop provide a renewable energy source for powering essential facilities, including elevators and communal lighting. This feature not only reduces the building’s carbon footprint but also ensures resilience in the event of natural disasters or emergencies, improving safety for residents and visitors.
