Dubai’s skyline is set to welcome one of the most unique skyscrapers in the world—The Muraba Veil, a super-thin tower that will span just one apartment wide. Planned to reach an impressive height of 1,247 feet while measuring only 74 feet across, this slender architectural marvel promises to stand out in a city already known for its cutting-edge designs and record-breaking buildings. The project was revealed by UAE-based developer Muraba in collaboration with RCR Arquitectes, the Spanish firm behind the design.
RESIDENTIAL
The 73-story tower will house 131 high-end apartments, ranging from two to five bedrooms, with each residence occupying the full width of the building. The developers have noted that each unit will take inspiration from traditional Arabian homes, featuring inner courtyards adorned with shade and greenery. In addition to the apartments, The Muraba Veil will offer curated amenities such as a spa, private movie theater, padel court, restaurant, and gallery.
What truly sets the design apart is the building’s exterior “veil,” a bespoke stainless steel mesh that responds to the changing colors of the sky. This innovative feature is intended to give the structure an organic presence, blending with Dubai’s landscape while maintaining its distinct identity. Rafael Aranda, founder of RCR Arquitectes and Pritzker Prize winner, emphasized that the project is deeply connected to its surroundings: “Our buildings must communicate with nature and be infused with the atmosphere of the local culture.”
Set to be completed by December 2028, The Muraba Veil will rise adjacent to Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road, a prime location near the canal. This project marks the fifth collaboration between Muraba and RCR Arquitectes, solidifying their reputation for crafting striking, functional living spaces.
With starting prices at 18 million dirham ($4.9 million), the apartments in The Muraba Veil are poised to attract buyers seeking a combination of exclusivity and innovative design. The tower will not only offer an exceptional living experience but will also add another layer of architectural distinction to Dubai’s skyline, already home to the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa.
As Dubai continues to push the boundaries of architectural ingenuity, The Muraba Veil joins a roster of ambitious projects that reflect the city’s status as a global hub for futuristic design.
